These mindful parent-child groups are for littles from infancy through 4 years and their adults. Throughout the class, we will observe our littles playing and follow their lead! This is a RIE-inspired class offered by Mel's friends. Mel’s Friends rests in the conversations we have, the friends that we connect with, and the little ones we get to spend our time with.

Class Information:

What is RIE Inspired play?    Magda Gerber’s RIE (Resources for Infant Educarers) philosophy focuses on respect and trust of the child. Coining the idea that we cannot separate education and caregiving.  Mel’s Friends is inspired by this approach and focuses on how to respect our babies and ourselves; while providing safe, nurturing environments for babies to simply play and take the lead. We’ll see our babies through a new lens trusting and understanding that they are born whole, capable, authentic humans.           

At what age can I start class with my baby?  Now! These play classes are for infancy - 4 years.  

How does the space support the wide age groups? The space is set up so babies, toddlers, and small children can play freely in a physically safe and cognitively supportive environment.
